I remember the days when hand purifier wasn't even a thing. When your hands were dirty, you had to trudge to the bathroom to wash them before dinner time. Especially for me... I was always digging in the dirt (I wanted to be a Paleontologist when I was a kid so I was always digging up "dino bones").Fast forward a decade and everyone was carrying hand purifier in their purses, they were popping up in hospital rooms, and classrooms. Before I knew anything about how dangerous hand purifier was, I would constantly use it.

Why Make Your Own Hand Purifier?

If you do a quick Google search on "the dangers of hand purifier" you'll see why I stopped. Hand purifiers contain triclosan, which not only kills bad bacteria but it kills the good bacteria with it. This leads to antibiotic resistance (source), ironically... hand purifier is supposed to be good for you isn't it?Our skin is the largest organ in our body. Whatever touches our skin: shampoo, deodorant, makeup, lotion, soap, is directly absorbed into the bloodstream. Once it enters our bloodstream, those toxins get carried to our delicate organs! Our diet and exercise are not the only components of a healthy lifestyle we need to take care of. They're still important, but we need to think of our bodies as a whole and treat it holistically. We need to be concerned about what comes in contact with our skin. When you ingest something orally, it goes through a filter and gets broken down by enzymes and flushed out of the body to a certain extent. Your skin has no filter.  Our skin isn't a barrier like many people think, it's a carrier.
